The Daniels family has fishing in their blood. For three generations, they have harvested seafood to feed not only their family, but also families around the world. Harvesting is unique to the Daniels family, as they are one of the few companies who control their product from ocean to plate.
Little did Malcom Daniels know when he purchased his first used trawl boat that his humble endeavor would grow to a thriving fleet of thirteen boats. The fleet harvests scallops, fish, and shrimp up and down the East coast. Two of the boats reside in South America, with two of the Daniels’ sons serving as captains.
Wanchese Fish Company has three packing plants which unload the fresh catches from these boats. From here, the product is trucked either to fish markets or to the Suffolk processing plant. The Suffolk processing plant is a 300,000 square foot facility that continues the tradition which has been handed down through three generations of developing new cost-effective technologies to improve the operation efficiency and add new value-added products to both our food service and retail lines. Our Suffolk plant is in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOP), United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the National Marine Fisheries (NMFS), United States Department of Commerce (USDC) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) programs with a quality assurance inspector on site to ensure you a consistent supply of the finest seafood available at stable market prices. We maintain the strictest guidelines of handling, processing and packaging and will continue our comprehensive research, development and market testing of new, value-added items. Most recently, the Suffolk plant was inspected by a AIB International Inspector and fulfilled the requirements of AIB International Consolidated Standards for Food Safety.
We want your repeated business and have a keen understanding that your satisfaction is the key to our success. For this reason, we guarantee our products. Ever since we began enjoying the best Wanchese seafood at our family’s table years ago, we have devoted our hands, boats, fish houses, plant and distributors to proudly sharing the best of our harvest with other families and businesses worldwide.
